ROBERT (COB) STANLEY COLBOURNE

COLBOURNE, ROBERT (COB) STANLEY - Robert (Cob) Stanley Colbourne of Plaster Rock passed away at the Tobique Valley Hospital on May 1, 2004. Born in Shulee, NS, on March 10, 1913, he was the son of the late George and Adelaide (Lovelock) Colbourne. He is survived by his daughters Joan (Ron) Harrison of Fredericton, Elaine Emery of Sacramento, CA, Shirley (Jack) Park of Summerland, BC; his son Allan Colbourne of Frontier, SK; his sister Edna Ward of Plaster Rock; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. he was predeceased by his parents, his wife Eunice, daughter Marie, sisters Dorothy and Vera. Before retiring, he was employed at Fraser Lumber Mill. He is a veteran of WWII with the Algonquin Regiment and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #29. He was also a Life Member of the Plaster Rock Curling and Golf Club and of St. George's Anglican Church. Cob enjoyed all sports and was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maples Leafs and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Resting at Tobique Chapel with visitation on Tuesday 2:30-4:30 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 5, 2004 at 2 pm from St. George's Anglican Church, Plaster Rock. Rev. David Perks officiating. Interment in the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to St. George's Anglican Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. A Legion Memorial service will be held at the chapel on Tuesday evening at 8:30 pm. Arrangements by Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
