MAURICE P. WETMORE

WETMORE, MAURICE P. - The death of Maurice Parker Wetmore of Fredericton, N.B. occurred on May 10, 2004 at the Veteran's Health Unit Fredericton. Born in Bloomfield, N.B. on September 14, 1919, he was the son of the late Boyd and Elsie Wetmore. Maurice graduated from UNB in 1942 (B.Sc. Forestry) and served in the RCAF overseas during WWII. He worked as a Forester for the provincial government until his retirement in 1978. He was an active member of Gibson Memorial United Church and enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, woodworking and photography. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eileen (Reicker); five children, Harvey (Barb), Ralph, Ronald (Noreen), Norma (Chuck) and Elsie (Georges); 10 grandchildren. Also survived by one sister, Bernice (Rev. Arthur Murray). Maurice was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Howard and two sisters, Edith and Lois. A memorial service will be held at Gibson Memorial United Church on Thursday, May 13th at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow in the church hall. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial service will be held at a later date in the Narrows United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimers Society or to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
