Anne Sophia "Annie" Dauphnee RICHIBUCTO, NB / KENTVILLE -It is with profound sadness that the families of Anne "Annie" Sophia Dauphinee (Gates), 75, of Richibucto, New Brunswick, formerly of River Hebert, Cumberland County, announce her sudden passing surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 in the Stella Maris Hospital, Sainte Anne De Kent, New Brunswick. Born in River Hebert, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora (Miller) Gates. She was a retired nurse's aide. In her earlier years, she played an active role in youth organizations. Prior to moving to Richibucto, where her daughter Cora cared for her, she was a member of the Mall High Club in New Minas. She enjoyed crafts, reading and quilting, but her greatest accomplishment was raising eight children. Besides her husband, and best friend, William S. Dauphinee, New Minas, she is survived by her sons, John (Susan), Springhill; Paul (Donna), Halifax; Terry (Tracy), Halifax and Mike (Tracy), New Minas; daughters, Cora "Coreine" Paul (John Richard), Richibucto; Carmel (Alan Hudson), Kentville and Rachel Kennedy (Troy), Timberlea; brothers, James (Phyllis) Kamloops, British Columbia; Harold "Huckey" (Emma), River Hebert; Henry, Amherst; sisters, Doreen (late Edwin Hurley), Maccan; Margaret (Perry White), Amherst; Vera (late Hiram Mills), Joggins; Cora "Mamie" (Donald Hoeg), Joggins and favorite aunt, Dorothy (late Llewelyn Hounsell); 33 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by brother, Arthur; daughter, Carol; son-in-law, John "Sonny"; grandsons, Gary Paul, John Paul Jr., Paul Jr. and 1st great grandson, Brandon Babineau. Special thanks to the Emergency Department Staff at Stella Maris Hospital, as well as the staff on the 2nd Floor Palliative Care Unit, especially Dr. Josette Vautour, Dr. Lise Langis, attending physician, Huberte Hebert, Vincent Scully, and Bernice Tucker, the Red Cross Society in New Brunswick, meals on wheels, and care-givers Anne Diggs, Maria and Diane. Visitation will be held from 3:30-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2007 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2007, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or the charity of your choice.
