EDGAR J. GOGAN
GOGAN, EDGAR J. - After a period of failing health at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, July 9, 2004 Edgar Joseph Gogan of Saint John West, husband of Eva (Daigle) Gogan. Born in Lancaster, Saint John West, a son of the late Paul Joseph and Nathalie C. (Bourque) Gogan. He had attended Randolph and St. Rose Schools and was a member of St. Rose Church. He served with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion 1943 - 1945 and was one of five brothers who served overseas and all five returned. He was an active member of the Denis Morris Community Centre, the MacDougall Lake Campers Association and the Fairville Oldtimers Pool League. He was a life time member of the Saint John Carpenters Association and worked construction throughout Atlantic Canada, retiring in 1986. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons; Paul and his wife Suzanne Gogan of Saint John, Ron and his wife Pat Gogan of Saint John, Daniel and his wife Karen Gogan of Quispamsis, one daughter, Debra Hayward of Saint John, one brother, Albert and his wife Laurette Gogan of Saint John, two sisters, Mary Murphy and Zelda Shannon, both of Saint John, five grandchildren, four great granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by six brothers; Ernest, William, Frank, Henry, Edmond and Leo, three sisters; Lena Perry, Liza Hamilton and Dorothy Goguen. Visitation at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) Saturday 7 - 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2004 at St. Rose de Lima Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice. Following the interment a reception will be held at the Denis Morris Community Centre, 330 Greenhead Rd., Saint John West. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute to a Veteran Service at the funeral home Saturday at 7 p.m.
