HAYES, ANNIE ELIZABETH (BETTY) (nee MONTEITH) - Passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Friday, July 9, 2004, at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Clair Hayes. Wonderful mother to Brian (Donna), Joanne, and Jeffrey (Mary Pat). Cherished grammie to Robert, Bryan, Claire and Christina. Big sister to Eleanor Stillwell of Mazerothe Settlement, N.B., Dorothy (William Ayer) of Edmonton, AB, Ruby (Allison MacNabb) of Woodstock, N.B., Shirley (Gordon Hovey) of Fredericton, N.B., Nancy (Doug Costall) of Okotoks, AB. Predeceased by infant daughter Heather Ann and brothers Donald, James, Jack and David Monteith. Admired sister-in-law of Cora, Norma, Jean and Joan. Much loved and admired aunt to many nieces and nephews across Canada. She will be sadly missed by her countless friends, all of whom she cherished and by all whose lives she touched. She was an amazing woman who lived her life with integrity, passion and curiosity with her family and friends as the centre of her life. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of 6N at North York General Hospital and Evangeline and Sally for their care of Mom. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, Toronto (1-800-616-3311), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, July 12. Funeral service will be held at ST. TIMOTHY'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, Toronto, at one o'clock on Tuesday, July 13.
