GOGAN, MARGARET ELLEN (NELLIE) - At the Rocmaura Nursing Home, Monday, July 12, 2004, Margaret "Nellie" (Reid) Gogan, wife of the late Henry F. Gogan and formerly of 745 Manawagonish Road, passed away peacefully. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Fairville, NB, she is the daughter of the late William J. and Mary Ann (McCourt) Reid. Nellie was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and the C.W.L. She was very active in her Rocmaura community. She held the position of secretary/treasurer for Hopewell Court, and hardly ever missed the nightly games of Auction 45's. Another favorite pastime was bingo playing once a week. In her earlier days, Nellie was an avid skater and still loved to do so into her 60's. She could often be found at Lily Lake or just about anywhere there was an ice surface. She is survived by her sons Norman (Jeannine), Quispamsis, NB and Kenneth (Diana), Saint John, NB; grandsons Jason (Tracey) Gogan and Michael (Jennifer) Gogan, both of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB and Patrick Gogan, Quispamsis, NB; her great granddaughter Hannah; and many nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John, NB (506-634-1701) with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 15th, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church with interment immediately following in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in Nellie's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
