AMHERST - Barbara Lily May McManaman age 67 of Amherst passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, N.S., with her loving family by her side. Born in Little River, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Charlotte (Blake) Hunsley. Barb worked at the Wandlyn Inn for nine years. She was a member of the Lady Tweedsmuir Club in Amherst as well as the Shoreline Sizzlers Red Hat group and volunteered for the Canadian Red Cross Blood Services and the IODE Thrift Shop in Amherst. Barb was a member of First Baptist Church where she served on several committees. While employed at the Wandlyn she was active in fundraising for the IWK Hospital. Barb is survived by her three sons, Carman (Nancy), Kevin (Lesley) and Carl (Nancy) all of Moncton, N.B.; six grandchildren, Megan, Jennifer, Jordan, Brittany, Hayden and Quinn; four brothers, Wilson (Edith) Hunsley, Victor (Heather) Hunsley and Bob (Betty) Hunsley all of Little River, N.S. and Gordon (Hilda) Hunsley of Chase, B.C.; sister Gloria (Jack) Black of Little River, N.S. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl and sister Eileen Sloss. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. from First Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the East Leicester Cemetery. Family flowers only.
