Bruce Douglas Gregory McIntyre AMHERST - Bruce Douglas Gregory McIntyre age 47, of Amherst passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in New Brunswick as a result of a motor-vehicle accident. Born in Amherst, he was a son of Marie (Thibodeau) McIntyre of Amherst and the late Pipe Major Duncan McIntyre. Bruce was an employee of Corrections Canada for many years employed at Mill Haven, Renous and presently in Dorchester. He was very active in the Amherst Lions Club as president and King Lion. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast. Besides his mother, Bruce is survived by significant other, Glenda Bourgeois of Amherst, one brother Benjamin of Halifax, one nephew Lt. Ian McIntyre of Winnipeg and maternal uncle and aunt Tony and Benita Cormier of Halifax. He is predeceased by a sister Donna McIntyre - Thibodeau. His remains will rest at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Parish, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst. Donations in Bruce's memory may be made to the Amherst Lion's Club. www.campbells-amherst.ca
