HERMEL LAFORGE
LAFORGE, HERMEL - At the Grand Falls General Hospital, July 31, 2004, Hermel "Kitou" Laforge of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 62 years. He was married to the former Murielle Bastarache. Born at Saint-Andre in 1941, he was a son of the late Alfred and Bernadette (St-Amand) Laforge. Retired school teacher, Mr. Laforge was a councillor and deputy mayor of the Town of Grand Falls. He was also a member of the U.C.T., council 854. He was predeceased by a sister, Norma Albert and two brothers, Raymond and Guy. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Christiane Laforge of Moncton and Serge (Helene) of Dundee, two granddaughters, Chloe and Melissa, his brothers and sisters, Velma Pouliot (Bruce Briteman) and Candide O'Rourke (Jack) of New Hampshire, Rodrigue (Fernande) of Drummond, Odette Mackie (Richard) of Quispamsis, Yolande Bourassa (Gene) of Methuen, Massachusetts, Gilles of Montreal, Yvon (Judy) of Edmonton, Alberta and Marise Laforge of Drummond, as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 3rd at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with interment in the Assumption cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Regional Food Bank or the Foundation of the Friends of the Grand Falls General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
