CLIFFORD CHESTER RODGERS

RODGERS, CLIFFORD CHESTER - Bathurst - 83, of the Robert L. Knowles Veteran Unit, Bathurst and formerly of Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (August 12, 2004) at the Veterans Unit after a lengthy illness. Born in Clifton, Glou. Co., he was the son of the late William Rodgers and the late Esther (Jagoe) (Rodgers) Doncaster. He served in World War II, with the 14th Field Ambulance R.C.A.S.C. and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was a member of Lodge St. John #27, F&AM, of the Masonic Order, member of the Bathurst Chapter #22 Order of the Eastern Star, was a member of Saint George's Anglican Church, Bathurst, and was a cub Scout Leader there for several years. He worked as a pipe fitter with the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and was a member of its company's Quarter Century Club. Besides his wife, the former Hilda Jennings, he is survived by: Two daughters: Glenna Munn (Brian) of Saint John, NB, Joyce Daley (Glen) of Bathurst, five grandchildren, Christopher, Erin and Lindsay Munn, Dawn and Andrew Daley. His aunt, Katie Jagoe of Bathurst, nieces and nephew. He was pre-deceased by infant daughter, Gail, son William "Billy", and step-father Robert Doncaster. The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (August 14, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Saint George's Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Saint George's Anglican Cemetery, St. Anne St., Bathurst. A Legion service will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. www.elhatton.com For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Saint George's Anglican Church, Robert L.
