CAROLYN PRICE

PRICE, CAROLYN - Carolyn Price of Hampton, wife of David Price passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Saint John Regional Hospital, August 15, 2004 after an eight month struggle with cancer. She was born at McNamee, N.B., daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Hambrook) Long of McNamee. Carolyn was a loving, spirited wife and a devoted mother who loved her family dearly. She was able to rise above the trials and burdens she endured and courageously lived her life to the fullest. August 29th was to be her and Dave's 40th Wedding Anniversary. Along with raising her family, she had a successful career in ladies fashion retail for over 18 years. She enjoyed outdoor activities of hiking, biking, cross country skiing, gardening, camping and walking "Ben" her dog. She enjoyed vacationing and occasionally went with Dave on business trips to such places as Barbados, Bermuda, Florida, Nashville, San Francisco, Monterey and other places in the U.S. and Canada. She loved her house and took satisfaction in cooking, decorating and making it a cozy home with sunflowers and plants galore. She was an avid reader and a familiar sight in her little red car. She was generous beyond measure to all who were in need. She unselfishly spent countless hours, hard work and expense maintaining her birthplace home to become a Cottage "The Long Retreat". It was her magnet to hold her family together. All were welcome. She enjoyed her time there including many happy Christmas times. She loved it dearly and it left a great void and pain in hr life when she had to give it up. Now that she has gone on to much deserved rewards, she will be sadly missed by Dave, children and grandchildren and all that knew her. But never Forgotten.. She is survived by her husband David, one daughter April O'Donnell (Barry) of Edmonton; two sons Trevor Price (Stacey) of Saint John, Chris Price (Charity) of Edmonton; four sisters Rita Hachey of Toronto, Joyce Lyons of McNamee, Ann Chaisson of Miramichi, Marilyn Manderville of Quispamsis; three brothers Vaughan Long and Marvin Long of Toronto, David Long of Fredericton; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother Norman Long and infant son Timothy Edward. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton.
