MARY ROSALIE RILEY
RILEY, MARY ROSALIE - Mary Rosalie Riley of West Saint John, wife of the late William John Riley, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, August 23, 2004. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mabel (Hogan) McCarthy. Mary worked for Revenue Canada in the taxation office for many years. She was a fabulous cook and never missed an opportunity to feed anyone who came to visit. Although she had no children of her own, Mary loved children and was a "Nanny" to many. She will be fondly remembered by all who loved her. She is survived by her brothers Frank and wife Lynne of Quispamsis, NB and Cam and wife Doreen of Rothesay, NB; sister Maureen Trenholm of West Saint John, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins; her special "Angel" Doreen Blair who was her caregiver for many years and her newest caregivers April Riley and Roberta Richard, of whom Mary thought so much. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was also predeceased by her brothers Rev. Raymond J. (S.F.M.) Gerald T. and her sisters Eleanor Breen, Margaret Connors, Beatrice LeBlanc and Katherine Doiron. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) with visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 27, 2004 in Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 12 noon. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery with a reception to follow in the Fallsview Family Reception Center. In lieu of flowers, an act of kindness shown to another, would be an honour to Mary's memory and memorial donations may be placed to the C.N.I.B., Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of donors choice.
