DOUGHTY, ANNA PAULINE - Fort Fairfield - Anna Pauline Doughty, 93, wife of the late William Luther Doughty, passed away, Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Presque Isle nursing facility, following an extended illness. She was born March 24, 1911 at Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Turney and Cora (Estey) Johnson. She was raised in Plaster Rock, N.B., Canada and attended area schools. She attended the Burntland Brook Baptist Church of Plaster Rock and as a young lady performed as the church organist. Pauline was married to William Luther Doughty on November 12, 1929 and returned to Fort Fairfield in 1954 where she was employed at the Community General Hospital for 17 years. Pauline was known as a hard working person who possessed great honesty and always spoke her mind. She will be remembered by all as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and devoted friend. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband on November 1, 1988; one son, Floyd L. Doughty on December 11, 2000 and one grandson, David Doughty. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Coleman McDougall of Plaster Rock, N.B.; ten grandchildren, Kenneth McDougall, Patricia Giberson, Coleman McDougall Jr., Ronald McDougall, Richard McDougall, Angie Mulherin, all of Plaster Rock, N.B., Laurie Jensen of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Debbie Doughty of Fort Fairfield, Donna Fournier and Deanna Plant, both of Perth-Andover, N.B.; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Hope Janice Doughty. Friends may call on Monday, September 6, 2004 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Hanson and Rev. Carl DeMerchant officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of fellowship with refreshments will be held at the V.F.W. Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately following the interment service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Doughty to the charity or organization of one's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
