LEGERE, ELVINA MARIE - Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on September 15, 2004, Mrs. Elvina Marie (Vautour) Legere, wife of the late Emile Joseph Legere, of Pennfield, NB. Born in Rogersville, NB on July 27, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Levian J. and Adeline (Caissie) Vautour. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by two sons, Roger Legere (Linda Daigle) of Saint John, NB and Rheal ("Ray") and Louise Leger of Pennfield, NB; four grandchildren, Andrew and Laurie, William and Terrence; one sister, Alice Mealey (Edgar) of Pennfield; one brother, Leo Vautour of Pennfield; and her special companion, Odilas Chevarie of Blacks Harbour, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased, besides her husband, by one son, Edgar; one brother, Frank Vautour; one sister, Frances Belliveau. Elvina was a member of Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour, and was very active in the C.W.L. for over 50 years. She was a former member of the Eastern Charlotte Lions Club, and was an active volunteer at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour for many years. She was a receipient of many provincial and municipal awards for her volunteerism, and was an avid Bingo player. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church in Blacks Harbour, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be said at the Funeral Home on Friday at 8:00 pm. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
