H. STANLEY DIXON
DIXON, H. STANLEY - The death of H. Stanley Dixon, husband of the late Fraetha Louise (White) Dixon, occurred on Monday September 20, 2004 at York Manor. Born in Lawrence Station, Charlotte County, NB. He was the son of the late Walter and Bessie (Conley) Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a retired Federal Civil Servant for the Department of Immigration. He worked as a Special Inquiries Officer in both McAdam and Fredericton. He was a York County Councilor for several years and also Warden for the County of York in 1965 and 1966. He was the first Mayor of the village of McAdam and was the Chairman of the Board of York Manor and County Properties for 17 years, including during the construction phase. He was also a former city of Fredericton Councilor. He joined the Ashlar Lodge F&AM in McAdam in 1939 and was the Worshipful Master in 1950. He later joined the Alexandria Lodge F&AM in Fredericton. Mr. Dixon had been a member of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite since 1963. He was a former District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. H. Stanley Dixon is survived by two sons, Donald Stanley Dixon of Fredericton, NB and Curtis Brian Dixon (Joan) of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren, Ted (Susan), Stephen, Stephanie, Jennifer, Kimberley (Todd), Peter, Jodi and Craig and 10 great grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Dixon was predeceased by one brother William Edward Dixon. Visitation will take place at Saint Paul's United Church, McAdam, NB on Thursday, September 23, 2004 from 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, McAdam, NB on Friday, September 24, 2004 at 11 AM with Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating and Rev. Gil MacKenzie assisting. Interment will take place at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB. Pallbearers for the service are, Peter Dixon, Craig Dixon, Stephen Dixon and Todd Stephens.
