HAROLD WILSON CHAPMAN

CHAPMAN, HAROLD WILSON - of Hillgrove, age 91, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born August 26, 1913 in Mount Middleton, he was a son of the late Percy W. and Gertrude M. (Folkins) Chapman. He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator and a Veteran of World War II, having served with the 8th Princess Louise Hussars. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 20, Sussex and was affiliated with the Hillgrove Baptist Church. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Mildred Mullins of Moncton, Vera Dempsey of Hillgrove, Elsie Tower of Oshawa, ON, Gladys Smith (Hubert) of Hillgrove, Phyllis Smith of Hillgrove, Helen Jones (Ron) of Cornwall, PEI. He was predeceased by his wife Marie (Davis); sisters, Marjorie, Alice, Pauline; brothers, Earl and Ralph. Resting at Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac, with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a memorial service at the funeral home, Wednesday at 6:45pm. The funeral will be held from the Hillgrove Baptist Church on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 1:00 pm, Rev. J. French officiating. Burial will be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to make donations may do so to the Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the memorial of the donor's choice.
