MacDONALD, DOUGLAS CHARLES - The death of Douglas C. MacDonald, 80, of Moss Glen, husband of Madeline MacDonald occurred October 1, 2004 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John. He was born at Saint John, son of the late Douglas and Jane Mary-Grant MacDonald. He was a veteran of WWII serving overseas with the General Hospital Service Corps. Douglas was Past President of Peninsula Branch 62, Royal Canadian Legion and Past District Zone Commander. He was employed at the Sugar Refinery for 32 years and the Corps of Commissionaires for five years before retirement. He is survived by his wife Madeline; one daughter Patricia Ward (Peter) of Edmonton; five sons Doug MacDonald (Lynda) of Summerville, Russell MacDonald (Nancy) of Quispamsis, David MacDonald (Fran) of Saint John, Billy MacDonald (Kym) of Saint John, Tony MacDonald of Moss Glen; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, on Tuesday, 2-4pm and 6-7pm. A Legion tribute will be held Tuesday, 7:00pm, at Reid's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Field of Honour. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Online donations and condolences may be made at: www.reidsfh.com
