VEY, JOSEPH (JOE) - The death of Joseph (Joe) Vey husband of 32 years to Margot C. (McLeod) occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late John and Esther (Foster) Vey. Joe worked for the City of Saint John in the Water and Sewage Department for many years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Besides his wife Margot, Joe is survived by son Robert C. Vey (Barb), Rothesay, daughters Joanne MacMillan, Rothesay and Paulette Seely (Scott) of Hampton, stepson Norman McLeod of Ontario, step-daughter Elaine Danahy of Saint John and a special devoted step-daughter Tammy Marr (Allan), two brothers, Bruce Vey (Tina), Alberta and Ronald Vey (Kathy), Kingston Peninsula, NB, half brother Kenneth Lane (Muriel), Toronto, Ont., half sister Hilda Bursey, NL, grandchildren Tabatha, Scott, Kendra, Adam and Taylor, a very special granddaughter Keri Phinney, grandchildren Sandy and Wendy, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, twin sisters Betty Cook and Dot Thomas, brothers James, Douglas and John Vey, half sister Kay Mann, Edith Dunham, Audrey McCue and Greta Crawford. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to East Saint John Food Bank or the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
