JOSEPH FRANCIS McDADE

McDADE, JOSEPH FRANCIS - The death of Joseph F. McDade of Rothesay, husband of Carol (Pearce) McDade, occurred on Monday, October 18, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late John Matthew and Susan (McMinamin) McDade. He was employed with Provincial Insurance Agency Ltd. for many years before his retirement. He served as a former Mayor of Renforth, was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Thistle-St. Andrews Curling Club, the Simonds and Kennebecasis Lions Clubs, the Kinsmen, the Red Chevron Club, the Sportsman Club, the Union Club, and the Renforth Boat Club. Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Susan Elizabeth of Armonk, NY, Moira Anne of Westwood, MA, Mark Andrew of Drayton Valley, AL, and Michael Joseph and his wife Paula (Gray) of Saint John, one brother Daniel of Ontario, one sister Patricia Collins of Montreal, PQ, grandchildren Matthew Joseph and Peter Joseph and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Gertrude McDade, Mary Marshall and Katherine Gardner and brothers, John, Gerald and Leo McDade. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at 12:00 Noon, from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay. Following cremation, interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Legion of Mary will be praying the Rosary at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. www.brenansfh.com
