ALDEI J. BASTARACHE
BASTARACHE, ALDEI J. - Calais, Maine - Age 77, died Wednesday morning at The Atlantic Rehab and Nursing Center following a long illness. He was born April 16, 1927 in St. Maurice, NB, a son of Arsene and Emilienne Cormier Bastarache. One of 18 children, he was educated in Bouctouche, NB. He had made his home here for the past 46 years and worked at Georgia Pacific's Woodland Mill until his retirement. He had also worked as a wood cutter for many years. His wife, former Avie Hersey, died in 1996. He was predeceased by brothers: Noel, Premelite, Loronzo, and baby Maxime; three infant sisters; and his adopted brother Gerard. Survivors include two sons, Donald Carr and Michael Carr and his wife Lori, both of Calais; a daughter Cynthia McLean and her husband Karl Jensen of St. Stephen, NB; four sisters Mrs. Laurie (Elmire) Maillet of St. Norbert, NB, Mrs. Alban (Rita) Leblanc of Scoudouc, NB, Laudia Bourque of Cocagne, NB, and Mrs. Alfred (Andrea) Robichaud of St. Antoine, NB; and five brothers Laurier and his wife Stella of Bellingham, MA, Ulysse and his wife Sue of St. Maurice, NB, Sylvio and his wife Andrea, and Regis and his wife Irene, both of Bouctouche, NB, and Raoul and his wife Marie of Cape Breton, NS; and seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at The Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church Street, Calais, ME.
