Eva Jane E. Steel AMHERST - Eva Jane E. Steel, age 92 years and 364 days, of Amherst passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, N.S., with her loving daughter by her side. Born in Stewiacke, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Webster) Woodworth. Eva was a member of Trinity-St. Stephen's United Church, Amherst, a 50-year life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of the Amherst Kinnettes. She loved to dance, but her passion was cards. Eva lived by the motto " I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday and I love today." She leaves a great many friends of all ages and was well thought of by all who knew her. She was the last surviving member of 13 siblings in her immediate family. Eva is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Bill) Hastings of Amherst, N.S.; son Alan Steel of Edmonton Alta.; daughter in law, Lynn Steel of Halifax, N.S.; four grandchildren, Stephen of Amherst, Kathy of Amherst, Wendy of Northport and Tiffany of London, England; three great-grandchildren, Derrick of Vancouver, B.C., Stefanie of Halifax, N.S. and Corey of Amherst; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Steel; second husband, Cecil Fullerton; several sisters and brothers. The Eastern Star and memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at 3 p.m. from Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906), with Rev. Susan Estabrooks officiating.
