BABINEAU, CATHERINE A. - Catherine (Healy) Babineau of Fredericton, NB, (formerly of Minto) passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, October 30th, 2004. Born in St. Stephen, NB, she was the daughter of the late Eileen and Joseph Healy. She graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1965 and Teachers College in 1967. She taught in Minto Schools for almost 33 years until her retirement in June 2001. She loved her Grade 1 classes, which brought her much happiness and many fond memories. Catherine is survived by God's greatest gifts - her six children, Mary Lou, Joey, Ann Marie, Michael, Lisa and Patrick all of Fredericton; the father of their children, Fernand (Fred) Babineau of Minto; grandmother, Louise Babineau (Acadieville). She is also survived by sisters, Margaret Mary of Fredericton, Elizabeth (Dan) of Saint John; brothers, Joseph (Cathy) of Ottawa, Phillip of Kingston, ON, John (Carolyn) of St. George; nieces, Susan Boudreau and their daughter, Mikaela, Danielle and Katherine Mackin; nephews, Marc, Peter (Megan) Kevin (Cynthia) Boudreau, Andrew, Gregory, Sean Healy; brother-in-law, Gus Boudreau of Greenwood NS; one aunt, and several cousins in New York and St. Stephen. She was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Susan Rita (1963). Catherine will be remembered by her wonderful neighbours, friends, teachers, teacher assistant, and students of Minto and a very good friend Yvonne Legere Our Mom loved having her family together filling the home with laughter and love, and so, in honoring her wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 2nd, at 6:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date. A reception will follow the funeral mass in St. Anthony's Hall. Please join Catherine's children and family at the mass and reception in celebration of her life.
