PEACOCK, DONALD GILBERT - On Friday, November 5, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, in his 87th year. Loving husband of the late Phyllis (Maxwell). Father of Carole, Judy (David Thorne) and Debbie (Bob Seymour), all of Fredericton. Papa of Susan Thorne, Ottawa; Andrew Thorne (Shelley and Tonia), Charlottetown; Alan Thorne, Ottawa; Amy, Jeffrey, Jill and Karen Seymour of Fredericton. Also remembered by brother-in-law Herb Maxwell of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. Born in Saint John, son of the late Albert and Elva (Porter) Peacock. Predeceased by his brother Gordon and infant grandson Neil Thorne. Don was a photographer. After graduating from Saint John High School in 1936, he co-founded Peacock and Wilson Studios (later Wilson Studios). He enlisted in the RCAF in September 1939 and served as a photography instructor throughout World War II. He brought his family to Fredericton in 1946 when he joined the provincial government (Department of Lands and Mines). He later became Director of Graphic Services at the University of New Brunswick, retiring in 1979. He was a Life Elder of St. Paul's United Church and a 60-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Don loved his family. He was completely devoted to his wife Phyllis and her interests. He involved himself in his daughters' education and activities, including the development of the Girl Guide Camp Chiplaquorgan, and always took pride in their accomplishments and those of his grandchildren. Through photographs and written diaries, he recorded the family's everyday life and special events for more than 50 years. Resting at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton where the family will receive visitors on Monday, November 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 4 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Memorial service at St. Paul's United Church on Tuesday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
