DR. GORDON E. LAWSON
LAWSON, DR. GORDON E. - Dr. Gordon E. Lawson 82, of 69 Cornerbrook Drive, Don Mills, Ontario passed away peacefully on November 6, 2004 at the Toronto East General Hospital with Patricia, his wife of 58 years, by his side. He was born in Milltown, New Brunswick on May 2, 1922. Gordon graduated from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and received his first medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax in 1951. He went on to specialize in surgery at the Montreal General Hospital. During his early years, he was in private practice in northern Ontario and continued his career as a medical doctor with the Ontario Government until his retirement in 1984. He leaves behind his loving wife, Particia Emily (Kerr) Lawson, daughters, Sharyn and her husband, Michael Mahaney of Brampton, Ontario and their two children Cory and Blair; Leslie and her husband, Ian Fair of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and their two children, Robbie and Carrie; Judie and her husband, Richard of Ward's Island, Toronto and their four children, Damian, Adrian, Jeffrey and Tristan; son, Gordon Jr., of Toronto; brother Keith (M.D.) of Edmonton, Alberta as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Leona; sisters, Yvonne and Enid and brother, Paul. A special thank you to all of those who helped care for Gordon during his brief illness. Your kindness and compassion helped us immensely during this very difficult time. The family has plans to hold a memorial service to celebrate his life next summer at his cottage on Grand Lake, New Brunswick, a place he dearly loved. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences are gratefully accepted at the family home in Don Mills, Ontario.
