GRETA H. ALEXANDER
ALEXANDER, GRETA H. - Greta H. Alexander of Sussex, formerly of Elgin, age 93, passed away, Sunday, December 5, 2004 at the Moncton Hospital. Born June 9, 1911 in South Branch, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Allie (Walters) Hall. She was a homemaker and quilt maker extraordinaire. She also worked outside the home, in the days before it was common. She joined her husband in his lumber camps as the chief cook, clerked in the general store, Elgin and operated her own hairdressing salon. She is survived by daughters, Berna and Roy Tkachuk of Edmonton, Carolyn and Bob Gamble of Fredericton; sisters, Marie Cassidy of Sussex, Orpha Phippen of Riverview, Dora Clements of New Hampshire; grandchildren, James and Gregory Gamble, Cindy Phillips, Valerie Geldart, great grandchildren, Renee, Reid, and Sophie, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray; sisters, Myrtle and Stella; brothers, Boyce, Earl and Murray; two infant daughters. Resting at Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac, with visiting hours on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral will be held from Armstrong's Funeral Home on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at 11am, Rev. D. Barrett and Rev. A. Snelgrove officiating. Burial will be held in the Old Elgin Cemetery.
