Harold D. Carter WEST Leicester - Harold D. Carter, age 69, of West Leicester, passed away peacefully at the Gables Lodge on Friday, April 13, 2007. Born in West Leicester, he was a son of the late Harold and Cynthia (Fife) Carter. Harold was a lifelong farmer, returning home as a young man after his father passed away to help his mother in the operation of the family farm. As an only child and having never been married, his surviving family consisted of close cousins, Gerald (Jessie) Brown, Southampton, Brian (Joann) Carter, West Leicester, Gordon (Ava) Carter, West Leicester, Donald (Janice) Carter, Springhill, and Ruth Carter, Fredericton, and many close friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, Amherst, (902) 667-8777. Visitation will take place at the Furlong~Jones Chapel Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 10 am until the time of the funeral at 11 am, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
