GRANT, IVA ANNA - of Meductic, wife of the late Murray M. Grant, passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Thursday, December 16, 2004, at the age of 81. Born in Grafton, she was the daughter of the late Holly and Mary (Carr) Clark. Iva and Murray owned and operated Murray's Esso and Grant's Restaurant in Meductic for several years. She always enjoyed the company of her family and friends in her home, especially anyone who would sit and watch the Toronto Blue Jays games with her. She also enjoyed outfitting her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all the local children with her hand-knit hats, mits, and scarves, among other things. Iva is survived by her children, Donna Foster (Curtis) of Marne, Larry Grant (Doreen) of Riceville, David Grant (Twiyla) of Riceville, and Nancy Jewett (Bev) of Keswick Ridge; a sister, Frances Sullivan of Brandon, Manitoba; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Iva was predeceased by brothers Robert Clark and Russell Clark; and by sisters Beatrice Peters, Grace Hamilton, and Madeline Blaney. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dale Greer and Pastor Bev Jewett will be officiating, with interment in the Upper Meductic Cemetery.
