FREDERICK J. WALSH

WALSH, FREDERICK J. - Passed away peacefully, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January, 1st, 2005, husband of 54 years to Marjorie Marie (Chamberlain) Walsh of West Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, he is the son of the late Edith and Peter John Walsh. A veteran of World War ll he served as a Private with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, touring in France, Belgium and Holland, being wounded and disabled. He was a hard-working man his whole life, working over 40 years, mostly with Chitticks Ltd as a Truck Driver. Upon retirement he worked with the Corps of Commissionaires. Fred also volunteered with the Special Olympics and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69. He was a devoted father and committed family man. Surviving in addition to his wife Marjorie are his sons Daryl (Eileen) of Calmar, Alberta and Ronald of Saint John; four daughters Susan Walsh (Gerry Keith) of Saint John, Sandra Mills (Neil) of Dartmouth, NS, Patsy Craft (Jimmy) of Saint John, Mary Beth Walsh (Greg Merzetti) of Saint John; sister Marie Edmonson of Hamilton, Ont; 11 grandchildren, Mark and Laura, Tanya (Sean), Terri (Tom) and Ben, Allison and Aaron, Jennifer and Jeffrey, Courtney and Shelby; three great grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, and Kylie; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Fred is predeceased by brothers William, Charles, James, John, Maurice, sisters, Alice, Edith, Evelyn, Avia. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, West Saint John, NB (506 - 634 - 1701) from where the visitation will be held on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. A tribute to a veteran service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January, 4th, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Church of St. John Baptist & St. Clement Mission Church, Millidge Avenue. The interment will follow in the Field of Honour of Greenwood Cemetery. Donations may be made to the KV Special Olympics.
