Agnes (Landry) Yurchuk AMHERST The death of Agnes D. (Landry) Yurchuk, age 81, of Amherst and formerly of Atikokan, ON, occurred suddenly at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center with her family by her side. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Amelia (Gaudet) Landry. Agnes was a member of the Holy Family Parish. She was a strong supporter and member of the NDP Party. She was a former member of the Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Agnes is survived by 3 daughters, Yvonne Henderson, Fort Francis, ON, Annette (Jim Wark) Zen, Thunder Bay, ON and Janice (John) Florek, Fort Francis, ON; 3 sons, Kenneth, Toronto, Robert (Joan), Lindsay, ON and Richard (Patty), North Bay, ON; 2 sisters, Rita Davison and Isabel (Bella) Tower, both of Amherst; 1 brother, Ernest (Louise), Amherst, NS; 21 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She was predeceased by a sister Yvonne and 7 brothers, Louis, George, Edgar, Clarence, Fred, Meddie and Aurele. The remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). A funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Charles site of the Holy Family Parish on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 10 am, with cremation to follow. At Agnes's request there will be no visitation. Burial will be in the St. Charles - Nativity Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc., Heart Foundation or Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation. www.furlongjones.ca
