RING, CHARLES MELVIN - The death of Charles Melvin "Mel" Ring, of 178 Rodney Street, Saint John West, husband of the late Doreen (Bass) Ring, occurred on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Harold G. and Greta (Hawkhurst) Ring. Mr. Ring was a Heating Technician and worked for various companies in Saint John including, Mawhinney's Heating, LeRoy's Heating, Esso and Irving Oil Ltd. until his retirement. He is survived by two sons, Richard (Colleen) of Rothesay and Brian (Kelly) of Saint John; two grandchildren, Ken and Lyndsie; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Ring; one brother, Murray Ring; and one sister, Jean Brown. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 2:15 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
