WITHROW, HERBERT RUSSELL - The death of Mr. Herbert Russell Withrow, loving husband of Helen Vera (Miller), of Ridgewood Veteran's Hospital, formerly of Rothesay, occurred on Monday January 10, 2005. Born 1926 in Saint John he was the son of the late Maurice Samuel and Lillian Ruth (Smith) Withrow. Herb served in WWII in the Navy. He was a member of GYRO Saint John, and St. David's United Church, Rothesay, serving in all aspects of the church. He currently was attending Kings way Assembly. Herb worked for many years in Sales. Besides his loving wife Helen, he is survived by his daughter Catherine R. Brooks (Ralph) of Lake Echo, NS; grandchildren Tobi Brooks (Andrew Lavoie) of Hammonds Plains, NS, Chad Brooks (Amy) of Beijing and Brock Books (Katherine) of Lake Echo, NS; great grandchildren Luke and Jake Doyle and Connor; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers James, George and Maurice Jr. By request there will be no visitation. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) on Saturday January 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date. The family would appreciate donations made to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice. A reception will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service.
