F. VERA ECKSTEIN

ECKSTEIN, F. VERA - Passed away peacefully following a very brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) on Friday, January 14, 2005 in her 101st year surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1904 and was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Young) Hall and dearly beloved wife of the late Frederick Eckstein. Vera resided the last 22 years in the home of her loving daughter Alyson Hamilton (widow of Charles) of Quispamsis. She is also survived by her son Robert Eckstein (Shirley) of Fredericton. She is survived by six grandchildren: Alyson's daughter Leslie Hamilton (Dana Brown) of Quispamsis and Robert's five children; Janet Waugh (Peter) of Port Hastings, N.S., Robert Eckstein Jr. (Debbie) of Fredericton, Judy Dykeman (Shawn) of Prince George, B.C., Jill Johnston (Edward) of Rothesay and Jennifer Brewer (Mark) of Quispamsis. Also survived by 14 cherished great grandchildren - Joshua, Spencer and Meredith Brown; Christopher, Stephanie and Kelsey Waugh; Sean and James Eckstein; Leah and Evan Dykeman; Kailey and Garett Johnston; and Rachel and Paige Brewer, as well as one niece, Beverly Morrish of Hudson, Quebec. Besides her parents, Vera was predeceased by her husband Fred (1901-1987), son-in-law Charles (1920-1969), her sister Doris Whittall and several nieces and nephews. Following cremation a memorial service will be held by Rev. Dr. Ron Vincent at Saint David's United Church in Rothesay, N.B. on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements by Dignity Cremation Services.
