WOOLWAY, JOHN CHARLES ROGER - 81, passed away January 30th, 2005. He was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Woolway, devoted husband of Betty, father of Susan and Deborah (Albert Andrews) of Dartmouth and Myfanwy (Michael Ferris) of Riverview, N.B.; grandfather to Caitlin, Valmai, Bryn, Bronwyn, Jennifer and Maxwell. He was educated at Jamaica College, Jamaica, Hereford Cathedral School in the United Kingdom, King Alfred's College in Winchester, United Kingdom, and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. He served in the Second World War as Lancaster pilot in the R.A.F. He taught in schools in the United Kingdom and Saint John, N.B., including many years at Saint John High School. He taught history, coached track and field and rugby, and was an inspiration to countless students. He leaves grieving family in Canada and England, and dear friends around the world. A private family memorial service will be held. Arrangements through A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oxfam in support of Tsunami Relief.
