Aubrey Douglas Holland CALGARY - Aubrey Douglas Holland, 55, of Calgary and formerly of Amherst, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, Calgary on Aug. 30, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Amherst, he was a son of Anita (Cormier) Holland of Amherst and the late Stanley Holland. Aubrey was recently employed with National Fast Freight in Calgary and formerly with the Amherst Cemetery. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Ashley, Amber and Tyler. Aubrey enjoyed bowling, softball and playing cards. He is survived by his wife the former Doreen Berry, daughter Anita (Greg) of Comox, B.C., sons Aubrey (Tanya) and Aaron (Tanya) of Calgary, granddaughters Ashley and Amber and grandson Tyler, all of Calgary. Besides his mother, Aubrey is survived by sisters Helen (Bev) of Enfield, Ann Marie (Ray) of Courtney, B.C. and Mary (Charlie) of Newtown, N.B., brothers Joe (Jean) of Amherst, Stanley Jr. (Marg) of Westville, and Frank (Laura) of Amherst as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Aubrey was predeceased by an infant brother Stanley Arthur. A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
