CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Basil James (Sonny) Melanson age 66 years passed away on Feb. 22, 2008. Born in River Hebert, he was the son of Greta (McLellan) Melanson of Amherst and the late Basil Melanson. Besides his mother, he is survived by sons Terry, Danny and Randy of Chilliwack, B.C.; Arron of Amherst, N.S.; daughters, Heather and Cherrie of Kingston, Ont. and sisters Evelyn of Surrey, B.C. and Eileen of Barronsfield, N.S. Sonny served in the Canadian Forces, worked as a civilian for DND and for the past 28 years was employed in the construction industry in B.C. His passion was fishing for salmon and trout. Cremation has taken place and his remains will be buried in Minudie, N.S. at a later date.
