Martha Piercey
(nee Pitcher) February 2, 1910 - February 6, 2008. Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, Martha Piercey of Hopeall, aged 98 years. Predeceased by her husband James and children: Neta, Norman, Matilda, Bernice and James (Jr.). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, sons: Raymond (Dona), Norman (Nancy), Graham (Muriel), Gordon (Gladys), Morgan (Catherine) and Robert; daughters: Elsie (Wallace) Bowering, Myrtle (her friend Jim Reid), Bessie Jesso, Rita (Melvin) Williams; also lovingly remembered by 39 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers: Gordon (Doreen) Pitcher and Robert (Pearl) Pitcher and sister Emily Thorne; also a large number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation Thursday, February 7th, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.; Friday, February 8th, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Zion Pentecostal Church, New Harbour on Saturday, February 9th at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at First United Church Cemetery, Hopeall.
