McLELLAN, ELSIE LENORA - Elsie Lenora McLellan moved from her house of clay and into the face to face presence of her Lord on February 27, 2005. Elsie was the widow of Rev. Logan McLellan with whom she served in several United Baptist pastorates throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Under Elsie's leadership, Women's Missionary Societies and Mission Bands reaching out to over 400 youth were initiated in several of those pastorates. Following her husband's death in 1971, Elsie became a member of the staff of York Manor Inc. until her retirement, at which point she continued her involvement there as a volunteer. Elsie continually expressed her loving manner and generosity as an active member of Devon Park Baptist Church. Elsie is survived by five children Barbara (Raymond) Wetherall of Chertsey, PQ, Jim (Lois) McLellan of Silverwood, Eleanor (Herbert) Page of Deerwood, Goldie (Alvin) Davidson of Birdton and Winnie (Bill) Crouch of Codys. Also surviving are grandchildren Wendy, Marlene and Tammy Wetherall, Lori (Carl) Cummings, Kelly (Jeff) Grant, Jill (Steven) Holmes, Steven (Julie) Page, Gregory (Caroline) Page, Chris (Stephanie) Page, Nancy, Karen and Sarah Davidson, Bethany (Paul) Butler and Bob Crouch; and great grandchildren: Jonathan, Jennifer, Mathieu, Melissa, Natasha and Kayla Wetherall, Kelsie and Kendra Cummings, Christopher and ShelbyLee Grant, Matthew, Daniel and Nathan Holmes and Sean Page. Also surviving are sisters Bertha (Archie) Starkey and Ruth (Neville) Nunes, and brother Gordon (Anne) Haldane. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Ethel Haldane; brothers Iain, Charles, Jamie and Robert Haldane and by grandchildren Juanita, and Douglas. Friends may meet with the family at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Monday, February 28, 2005 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Lawrence Meade at the Devon Park Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 2 pm.
