The death of Colleen Mawdsley, age 47, of Tatamagouche, N.S., occurred peacefully at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, on Friday, January 16, 2009. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Laura (Porter) Mawdsley of River Hebert. A cheerful and loving person, Colleen was especially loved by everyone who met her. She will be sadly missed by her Aunt Edith Symes; her foster family, Denise Anderson and Mark Gallant of Tatamagouche, and several cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Christina. Colleen's remains have been entrusted into the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service for both Colleen, and her father who died December 16, 2008, will be held this spring in the River Hebert Cemetery.
