GOMES, WINNIEFRED G. - On Wednesday, May 11, 2005 Winniefred G. Gomes, formerly of Champlain Heights, Saint John East, passed away at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB at the age of 88. She was born in Berbica, Guyana in South America. During her working years, Winniefred was a registered nurse in both South America and Saint John, NB at the Old General Hospital. She is survived by a devoted son Edward Gomes of Alberta; daughter Ruth "Tonya" Gomes of Vancouver, BC and her children Jessica and Jeffrey; sons Adrian of Moncton and his son Aaron, Carlos "Trevor" and his wife Jo-Anne Elder-Gomes and their children Gabriel, Benjamin, Elisabeth, Anneke, Naomi, Katherine, Jeremy, Paul, Jonathan; four great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Alvaro Carlos Gomes in December 1970; brother Patrick Lindie of Alberta. No visitation or funeral service at this time. An interment service will be held in Saint John at a date to be announced later. Contributions to the Alzheimers Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
