AMHERST – The death of Doris Bowles, 86, of Amherst, occurred at the Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 following a lengthy illness. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lorna (Turner) Wilson. Doris enjoyed her family, children, knitting, cooking and entertaining. She attended First Baptist Church, Amherst. Full of life, all who knew her enjoyed her presence. She was a lover of animals and always had a pet. Doris will be sadly missed by her son, John; nieces, Lori and Kim and special friend Brenda Greeno. She was predeceased by her husband, Eric, sisters, Margie, Annie and Pearl and brothers, Frank and Gerald. Doris’s remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777) from where a memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m., Rev.
