MRS. MARGARET L. (POULSEN) CHRISTENSEN
CHRISTENSEN, MRS. MARGARET L. (POULSEN) - The death of Mrs. Margaret L. (Poulsen) Christensen, wife of the late Vinal W. Christensen, occurred peacefully on Wednesday May 25, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Born 1905 in New Denmark, NB she was the daughter of the late Albert and Jacobine (Jensen) Poulsen. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She resided in Saint John since 1980. She was one of the Founding Members of the New Demark Historical Society. She loved spending time with her loving family and was very active in community affairs. Margaret took pride in her beautiful flower gardens. She is survived by sons Gerald Christensen (Evelyn) of Prince George, BC and Ivan Christensen of Rocky Mountain House, AB; daughters Thelma Toner (Darrold) of Canfield, Ont, Glenna Hitchcock of Saint John and Joanne McDonald (Ian) of Regina, SK; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her daughter Sylvia Taun; brothers Arthur and Jack Poulsen; sisters Alice Osterberg, Lillian Poulsen and Mabel Crockett; half brothers Bert, Harry and Freddy Poulsen. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday May 29, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday May 30, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
