O'NEAL, THERESA - After a courageous battle with cancer and with her family by her side, Theresa O'Neal of California Settlement at St. Joseph Hotel Dieu Hospital on May 31, 2005. She was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on June 14, 1927. She is survived by her husband Vernon O'Neal; children Lois DeMerchant of Perth-Andover, Hal (Victorine Martin) O'Neal of Aroostook; grandsons Michael (Vickie) Murphy, Jamie (Christina) Murphy, both of Aroostook, Corey DeMerchant of Perth-Andover. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Ellen "Nellie" (Quinn) Ledwith, daughters Janet and Lorna O'Neal; sister Mary Ledwith, and brothers Tommy John Ledwith and Lawrence Rooney. Theresa played an active part in the family business, O'Neal's General Contracting Ltd., up until 2004. She was also an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday June 2, 2005 at 2 pm from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Aroostook. Father Curtis Sappier officiating. Inerment will be in the parish cemetery.
