CALGARY – Elizabeth Grace (nee Saint) Heimbecker, beloved mother of Michael, Rodney and Wendy (George) Andrusyshyn of Calgary, and grandmother of Tim and Julie Andrusyshyn, left this life on Sept. 9, 2008. Mom was born Jan. 26, 1921 in Heart’s Content, N.L., daughter of Rev. Jabez and Ethel (nee Penney) Saint, the fourth of seven children: Ella (Brown), Jack, Bobbie (Dean), Julia, Mary (Smith), Ronald. They lived in various places in the Atlantic provinces and Bermuda. Family tragedies forced her to grow up quickly. She graduated from Mount Allison University in 1942 and worked (teaching, theatre and media) in various parts of Eastern Canada and Connecticut, finally coming West to Olds College where she met Donald. They married in 1958; their love covered all and gave them 46happy years together. She raised their family in Midnapore and Calgary and was active in such organizations as the Providence Child Development Centre, the Anglican Church Women and the Calgary Women’s Literary Club. Mom faced many challenges in life. We are especially grateful to all friends and professionals who cared and/or prayed for mom in recent years at home, at the Fanning Centre and at the Foothills Hospital. In the midst of illness came blessings. All who knew Elizabeth were warmly invited to a drop-in wake (viewing, food, drink and personal sharing) at the family home on Sunday, Sept. 14. Funeral services will be held at Christ Church Elbow Park (3602 8th Street S.W. Calgary) on Monday, Sept. 15 with Rev. Roy Darcus officiating, assisted by Rev.
