MELVIN LESLIE JUSTASON

JUSTASON, MELVIN LESLIE - The death of Mr. Melvin Leslie Justason of Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, Saint John, NB formerly of Pennfield, NB, husband of Lillias Marion (Urquhart) Justason occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on July 2, 2005. Born in Pennfield, NB on July 21, 1924 he was a son of the late Rubin and Della (Maxwell) Justason. A veteran of WWII serving in the Army, with the North Shore Regiment, he was employed with the Lake Utopia Paper as a Stationary Engineer for 17 years. Melvin was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 40, St. George, a member of the Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour, a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Pennfield, Fire Dept., and a member of the Pennfield Seniors Club. Besides his wife Lillias, he is survived by one son Richard Justason of Pennfield, NB, one daughter Jane Ryan of Saint John, NB; one brother Alfred of Vancouver Island, BC; one sister Bessie McClanaghan (James) of Pennfield, NB, and one grandchild Catherine Ryan. Several nieces, nephews. Melvin was predeceased by his brothers and sisters. Resting at the Wesleyan Church Blacks Harbour, NB, from where the service will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Bruce Cheney officating. Visiting at the church will be on Monday, July 4, 2005, from 2 to 4 pm only. Interment will follow in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. A Legion Tribute in Melvins Memory will be held at the church on Monday afternoon at 2:00 pm.. St. George Funeral Home 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755 - 3533) entrusted with the arrangements.
