GAUDET, ERNEST WINFIELD - Peacefully, at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, N.B on July 10, 2005, Mr. Ernest Winfield Gaudet, husband of the late Helen Lorene (McLanaghan) Gaudet of Blacks Harbour N.B. Born in Blacks Harbour N.B on May 6,1917, he was a son of the late A. Jesse and Annie Phylena "Lena" (Wilcox) Gaudet. A loving father, grandfather and brother, Ernie is survived by one son, Ernest "Melbourne" Gaudet of Blacks Harbour; one daughter, Donna Armstrong of Pennfield NB; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; three brothers, James (Georgina) of Blacks Harbour, Burton (Lola) of Windsor ON, Maynard (Zella) of St. George; five sisters, Myrtle Lee of St. George, Dorothy (Glendon) Carr of Sussex, Belva (Newton) Carol of Doaktown, Marjorie Grant of St. George and Mary (Austin) Richardson of Blacks Harbour; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and two brothers, Alfie and Albert, he recently was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Helen, on July 2, 2005. Ernie was a welder and machinist by trade, having worked for and retiring from Connors Brothers after 50 plus years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ernie was a member of the Harbour View Seniors as well as a 50 year member of the St. George Masonic Lodge #12 F& AM. At his request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Christ Church (Anglican) Cemetery with Rev. Keith Osborne and Canon David Genge officiating. A Masonic tribute will also be held at that time. In Ernies memory, donations to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
