JOHN BEDELL MacKENZIE

MacKENZIE, JOHN BEDELL - The death of John Bedell MacKenzie, formerly of St. Martins, NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 12, 2005. Mr. MacKenzie was born in Perth, NB son of Anne and George MacKenzie, and grew up in Fredericton. He graduated from UNB in Forestry (1952) and dedicated his career to the management of New Brunswick woodlands. A member of the Registered Professional Foresters of New Brunswick, Mr. MacKenzie managed the New Brunswick assets of the Hearst Corporation until his retirement in 1992. Throughout his life, Mr. MacKenzie was an avid fly fisherman and conservationist, supporting the Hammond River Angling Association and the Atlantic Salmon Federation. Mr. MacKenzie was predeceased by his wife Evelyn Helen (Johnson), and brothers George and David. He is survived by two sons, John A. MacKenzie (Nancy) and Peter G. MacKenzie (Jean) both of Quispamsis, daughter Bonnie MacLean (Melvin) of Rothesay, and grandchildren Matthew and Sara MacKenzie, Andrew and Vanessa MacKenzie and Christopher and Michael MacLean. he is also survived by two brothers, Bruce and James. Friends may call at Castle Funeral Home, Kings Chapel, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay (849-1702) on Friday, July 15,2005 from 3 o'clock until time of Memorial Service in the Kings Chapel at 5 o'clock. Cremation with interment in Brockway Cemetery where John will be reunited with his wife. In memory of John and lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
