McGARVEY, BETTY - The death of Mrs. Betty M. McGarvey, wife of the late Owen McGarvey occurred on July 16, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1931 in Saint John she was the daughter of the late J. Arthur and Beatrice (Heenan) McGuire. Betty was an active member of St. Pius X Church. She was also an avid golfer. She is survived by her loving children Philip McGarvey (Joan) of Saint John, Michael McGarvey of Calgary, Kathleen Legris (Paul) of Athens, Ohio and Yvonne McGarvey of Saint John; grandchildren Jeff (Shannon), Mike, Eric, and Alex McGarvey, David and Marc Legris and Jarrett Peters; brothers Robert McGuire (Marian) of Saint John, John (Jack) McGuire (Patricia) of Ottawa, Ontario and Donald McGuire of Saint John; sister Joan Warnell (Ken) of Dartmouth, NS; and several nieces and nephews. By Betty's request there will be no visitations. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday July 19, 2005 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
