Florence M. Landry Florence M. Landry, age 83, of River Hebert, passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center on Monday, January 26, 2009. Florence was born in 1926, daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Nix) DesBarres of Barronsfield. She was a lifelong resident of River Hebert, and a long time member of the River Hebert Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker most of her life having worked for a few years at Truemans Hardware Store in Amherst and Terrio's Petrofina Restaurant in Aulac. Florence was predeceased by her husband Abbie and her son Paul. She is survived by sons Bernard of Salisbury, Alan (Laurie) of River Hebert and Art of Alberta; daughter-in-law Marilyn of Salisbury, Grandchildren Abbie (Michelle), Jeremy (Sandra) of Salisbury, Janice (Mark) of Calgary, Misty (Emlyn) of Dorchester, Alicia (Chris) of Springhill and Devan of River Hebert; great-grandchildren Brock, Christian, Ty, Jackson and Devon of Salisbury and Mya of Springhill; brothers, James (Elma) of Gay's River, Charles (Edna) of Barronsfield; sisters Anne (Cecil) Shipp of Welland and Sandra (Robert) LaPierre of Amherst. Florence is also survived by special sister-in-law Pearl Landry of Barronsfield and neice Bertha DesBarres of Amherst who provided special care to Florence. Arrangements have been entrusted to the River Hebert and Joggins Community Funeral Home, Main St., River Hebert (902-251-2877). Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11 am from St. Paul's Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert, Father David MacDonald officiating.
