THOMPSON, NELLIE GLADYS - Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on August 27, 2005, Mrs. Nellie Gladys (McKenney) Thompson, wife of the late Mariner Thompson of Lambertville NB. Born in Leonardville NB on January 10, 1906 she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Annie (Harris) McKenney. A loving aunt, she is survived by; nieces and nephews: Glenn (Marjorie) McKenney of Saint John , Douglas (Faith) McKenney of Charlottetown , Donald (Sharon) McKenney of Saint John, Deanna McKenney-Emmerson (John) of Dieppe and Joan McKenney- Elrick (Andy) of Parksville B.C as well as several grand nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by four brothers: Lloyd, Kenneth, Harold and Howard. She was the last member of her immediate family. Nellie was an avid reader and loved to knit. She knitted many pairs of socks and mittens for her family and the Red Cross and was a life long member of the Fairhaven Baptist Church. Aunt Nell loved everybody, but she loved some more than others. Resting at the Fairhaven Baptist Church where the service will be held on Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Nellies memory, donations to the Fairhaven Baptist Church, Deer Island Ambulance or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
