PARKER, GRETA D. - Greta Darling (Fowler) Parker, 98, of Martinsville, Virginia died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. Greta was born in Kings County, New Brunswick on Feb. 22, 1907 to Roswell E. Fowler and Margaret Clarke Fowler. Her husband, Thomas Gilbert Parker died in 1957. She was also preceded in death by three brothers John, Keith and Roswell Fowler and a sister Eva Fowler. She graduated with a teacher's degree from Fredericton Teacher's College in New Brunswick and taught in the Canadian school system. Greta was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville. Survivors include her daughter, Gail Parker Price (Gene) of Martinsville, one grandson and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held on Friday, Sept. 2 at McKee-Stone Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ellen Hanckel officiating. Memorials may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 326, Collinsville, Va., USA 24078. A private burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Gardens, N.Y.
